We decided that we might as well just head over to the construction site and give ourselves a short tour. We parked in an obscured spot a bit away to avoid detection. With walkie-talkies in hand we spent a couple hours exploring the new mall inside and out. Unfortunately, we happened upon some workers and tried to get back out unseen. The ensuing swarm of Black-n-Whites, lights-a-flashin' told us we had not avoided detection. We split up and managed to find suitable hiding spots while trying to keep calm... except Dave who hit his talk button and released a torrent of cursage when a spotlight passed near him.We hid out long enough that we thought we had escaped without incident. On our way back to the car we found that a popo had hidden back in the trees waiting for us. We tried to act calm and got back onto the road before the cruiser lights lit up. We explained our adventure and after getting our names we were let go.

Remember the cop asked us to get out of the car he searched it and found the walkie talkies under the seat and said "Ahhh, what are these" and I think Jason said "walkie talkies" and he said "What are they for" like he was a super sleuth and had just broken an old cold case. And I said "to talk to each other with" Well, as we all know, you can't go to jail for having walkie talkies under your seat. (at least I was pretty sure you couldn't)and he just said "oh" and then let us go. It was tense for a few minutes though.
I am so glad to hear these stories come out of others peoples mouths, I could hardly beleive that David had done half this stuff. but I guess he wasn't imbellishing at all, because the stories are the same. Thanks for sharing. my family is really loving it.
