Bear Lake Fishing Trip
Summers during our college years were a lot of fun. We spent several weekends in McCall and my bro-in-law would take us fishing to these spots far off the beaten path (Scooter knows what Im talking about). Anyway, we went on one trip where Dave drove his "new" GMC Jimmy, white with a tan stripe as I remember. You all know how well Dave takes care of things, and he was not about to subject his new rig to anything. We hit this washboard road and dave slowed it down to about 5mph, or so it seemed, for several miles. It must have taken us 2 hours to go about 15 miles to reach the trailhead. We hiked and got to the lake but with little time to fish. I still caught several fish, of course, but there were many more saved that day. Great fun, but it was the last time we let dave drive on those trips. Great times, we had a blast finding new lakes and rivers back in the day.
